Hi guys,

The Genting Poker Series rolls into town for me this weekend. Genting is a casino chain in the UK and my local casino is hosting 7 days of fun. The main event is £440 3 Day, Gtd £200,000….which I'm excited about as last year was super soft.

My question is in relation to one of the side events. This is a £100 + £10 'Button Poker' tournament. Its usual NLHE but the button goes to the winner of the previous hand and does not cycle round the table clockwise as normal.

Has anyone seen/played this before?

How would you adjust to this new dynamic?

wow thats wierd, I guess it allows you to try to gain positional advantage more than normal, so I guess stick to the fundamentals, while probably trying to steal a little lighter from mp through to the button.

Yeah, I think defending in the blinds more too as (a) you get the button if you win and (b) people will steal wider because of (a).

Table seating is going ot have a HUGE factor on this tourney.

You want nits to your right more than ever, especilly in the two seats that put you in blinds if they win.

A strategy I wouldnt change my general strategy too much, although there is slightly more incentive I thnk to play back against the people to your direct right to avoid getting put in the blinds.
