Hey guys with the new system, just changed up to my poker sreen name, so 0lespaul3 is donezo…Hope all is well!  Tough spot, as my raise is from utg w 23 bbs behind after it. I hate spots like these. I’m curious to what others think here? 2 tables left here and I’m really not interested in the min cash. Intentions before the hand were to call the bbs shove, but the 2 flatters seemed a little sketchy given the bb stack size..Snap fold? Snap Call?  Reshove? Reasoning? Thanks! 😀

Hey man!

I think I'm folding here rather quickly. If there were no flatters behind, I too have the same plan (min open UTG and call the BB shove) and stick with it.

I love that you had a plan for the hand, as we should, but with the flatters, it completely changes the scenario.  They can be flatting with pairs (88+ (trapping with QQ+, especially since the BB is short and can be shoving here)) as well as KQ,KJs,AT,AJ,AQ). Also, we don't have any FE to get them off most of their flatting range, so if they flat they SHOULD be prepared to call this shorties AI, but who knows.  As rivermen said in his latest video, a lot of people love to play sheriff on squeezes (even though this isn't the same situation) and will look people up lightish.  I just think we're never ahead here and going to be flipping sometimes and crushed a lot of the time.  We still have 23bb when we fold and that's completely fine.

As far as playing to win and not only min-cash, I completely agree, but that doesn't mean that we have to take -EV spots (which I'm pretty sure this is, but don't know the math on it.)  FWIW, we are going to get away with a lot more BEFORE the money bubble, and not nearly as much after it.  People are always happy to re-shove lighter/more often once ITM.  For this reason, if I have to, I'll tighten up a bit after the bubble breaks to withstand that first surge of people happy to be ITM and willing to get it in. But in most cases I just keep up the pressure until people force me to stop.

As for my re-shove range, (which I would always be doing here, never flatting, although flatting AA,KK might not be bad at all but terrible for balancing), I think it would be:

JJ+,AK with arguments being made for TT as well.

Really think TT is borderline and could go either way

Thoughts?

Yea I think you definitely have to include 10s in there, as our bb shover or one of our flatters could easily hold 8s-9s..I feel exaxtly as you do. But sometimes we give our opponents a little too much credit..Like I will flat aa or kk here praying or trying to induce the bb shove. I did think about that, and the other thing i thought about was that they WERE aware of where my raise came from, and WERE aware of the BB's stack size. So you and I share the same thinking here. I'm curious to what a few other say. Like Dantastic and rivermen..I think i'm almost certain both those two will say reshove..We will see! I think i'll tweet them to read and post..

Haha. I love you, too.

Miwa is good. I think he's flatting to trap preflop and that makes me lean toward folding. Snakeyes is a massive fish. If they were both fish I'd jam and expect to fold out the flatters almost always.

As played, I can't think of anything Miwa flats that isn't a good hand.

Lately I've been sharkscoping every player at my table when I start getting down to the last 2 or 3 and it's helping a lot with these types of decisions.

I only fold because of Miwa here.

In a nut shell I'm folding here. Also like that you have a game plan to call the BB.

I think it is close because the BB might be more inclined to shove with the dead money out there with weaker hands like suited connectors which play good vs your calling range.

I think your stack size is big enough to make moves still, and I don't know much about the players behind and don't want to fall into trap even though there smooths are pretty bad at a glance.

I'm tired sorry if this post isn't much help. I'm sure you have thought of most of the things I mentioned. spade
