Reads- Both villians are loose passive fish, limping in a ton and calling raises almost always.

Slowplaying vs two loose passive fish is not a good idea. There’s a video in my Getting Paid series talking about when and when not to slowplay, and also about getting value from big hands in general. Think (re)watching that series would be valuable to you.

I've watched that series a few times andrew , The reason why I slow played was because my value target was really weak hands or probably none at all. what would your value target be against these players? that just limp in with any two?

we can get value from KJ, Ax , but i doubt hands like Tx are calling more then 1 street.

You can't get value when there's no value to get, if they've missed the flop completely then they'll fold and that's it, bad luck.

What you want to do is try to get as much value as possible from a hand like Ax, or with any luck a Tx. If they are not calling the flop there aren't many turns or rivers that they are calling either. You can wait but with an ace on the board you're only getting value from them if they have an ace or if the have a flush in the river… so why wait?

I thins spot I prefer to put a bet out on the flop and, if called then check to let the fish hang himself… if they both fold to my bet then that's fine too… but trying to trap in that spot doesn't really work, you were the pre flop raiser so they perceive you to have the ace so they'll fold if they don't, but they're always going to float one street with the ace (and sometimes without the ace) and try to take it if you show weakness.

Well said Chaos. When you have a near-nut hand, your target shouldn’t be weak hands. In this case, Ax should most definitely be your target. It’s fine to let them fold their weak holdings. That’s the tradeoff for winning big pots against Ax. Checking isn’t going to suddenly cause them to play big pots with weak hands.

Nice post chaos.

I’ve re-watched value betting series part 2 and against loose passive fish i should be driving action since its unlikely that they are going to do it for me.

cheers all 🙂
