$560 buyin.  Day 2.   400 get paid $1019.   about 430 players left.

I’m chip leader at table w/ 350k.  came in with 2nd biggest stack at table.

This hand *  3000/6000/500

Hero – Table has seen BIG hands from me.  Not super aggro at this point.  Tight/Agg

vill 1 – FISH, big muscle guy, limping w/ 20bbs, doesn’t seem good.

vill 2 – Very good player w/ close to 2 MILLY in cashes.  Has a WSOP bracelet from early 2000’s. 55 yr old middle eastern business guy from Pa.  He can play and can be AGGRO.  Was short to start day, but had a nice stack.

Short stack –  who cares.  lol

———————————————————-

3k/6k / 500 ante   (15k in POT)

Hero – UTG    KK, open 13k

Short stack – goes ALL-in for 60k

Vill 1 – 200k in chips  FLATS the all-in (Doesn’t ask for a count)

Vill 2 – 212k in chips  Thinks for a few and says ALL-IN……  212k

Back to me…… I think for like 4 seconds and Clown (Vill 1) says, “I’m ALL-IN”   Dealer quickly tells me that I haven’t acted yet.

He looks embarrassed and I don’t think he has AA or KK……..  Now that I’m thinking he looks worried.  I don’t think he has me beat.  I’m worried about Vill 2, but he would do this with TT – AA, AK…………..

UGH,  I tank.

What do you do?  Go All-in and see if the Vill 1 comes in as well.  I have them both covered.  IF i lose I will still have 150k as bubble approaches.  FOLD?  If I fold I have 335k.  If I win.  I’ll be at near 700k and top 5 stack in tourney.

Call?  Fold?    Mini cash is $1019   1st is $325k   I’m in for 2 bullets ($1150)

FYI villain1 is allin. his out of turn acting is standing.

so against the assigned ranges its a snap call imho.

how did V2 react to all of this i might think he is tighter in this spot than you assume

Vill 1 is all-in, but IF I change the action…… he gets to rethink it.

Yeahhh interesting. I think we’re still getting it in? There are a lot of chips in the pot, especially counting Vil 1’s stack. Obviously Vil 1 is excited about his hand, and while the quick flat + acting out of turn AI does scream strength…I’m not convinced we have to fold.

Both Vil 1 and 2 can have hands worse than KK, I think.

Having 20 big blinds around the bubble isn’t the end of the world, though I don’t have much live experience. laugh

I’m calling here 100% of the time.. Only one hand that beats me PF. And villains are big dogs with any other hand. Just call here and pray to the poker Gods for no A on the board (although they could think it is time to cooler you with a set or straight that beats KK 😉 )

V2 has bigger aces and pairs in his range. He’s not squeezing in the traditional sense because there is still a 10BB all-in to deal with, so his range is higher. But KK is still pretty good! It’s a great opportunity to get a lot of chips from a player who doesn’t give them up easily.

Even though it’s a bit of a weird situation, I dont think we should even be thinking about folding KK (I would be getting in QQ and AK as well). Stacks are only 35 big blinds effective and both of your opponents should have AK and JJ+ in their ranges.

I’m reading this hand from the pro’s perspective

you, a competent chip leader are opening a perceived wide range at this point in the tournament I’m guessing? You say perceived as tight/agg, but do you think that’s what his perception of you will be? I’d think a pro would be able to understand that you would be waiting to take advantage of your image. You didn’t mention that, but I’d probably guess that. Then a short stack who shoves say 77+ KQ+ AJ+ puts in 11bb. You would have a better answer for that guy’s range but as a default I don’t think a shorty’s folding those hands and you could only add to that range depending on player type, unless there are some other bubble factors you havent mentioned. Then a fish flats! That fish could flat like ATs, KQs, 88-AA, AKo/AQo, even like QJs.

Well one thing I’d think after is that if the fish will not put his whole stack in, and is weak enough to put in 30% of his stack and fold like this with a lot of hands, it’s likely a profitable spot with a ton of hands to have because you’ll have 2.1ish to 1 on your money if the fish folds a ton, (like 80%).

So it comes back to you, OP lol, youre really the only worry for the pro. If youll fold all but like QQ+ and AKs or something if he rips here, and he thinks youll have like another 15% of hands that youre folding, then boom.

So idk like idk why we can’t see something down to a suited ace from the pro because this is a really profitable spot if the fish folds. like 40% against the short stack for would still be like a 10% profit a huge amount of the time.

Now you see the fish wants to rip. Maybe he has AA, but is he ever folding TT here? or AK or AQ?

I’m pretty stoked without doing many calculations, which relies heavily on how I think a pro would be thinking in that spot. Care to share results?

well, so I have KK, shorty is ALL-IN, clown flats but doesn’t ask for a count, just stinks in a stack of 5k chips.  Now to the solid Pro-ish player.  I know his range is JJ-AA or AK.  NOTHING ELSE.  I know he and I both feel the clown can’t bet us pre.  I’m sitting on 350k, he’s ALL-IN for 212k.  I have KK, and I say, “One of you has to have it !!!”  Floor reminds me that there is still action behind me.  Because the “CLWON” said All-in before I acted.  But once he realized I hadn’t acted yet, he was WORRIED. So I tank.  Tell myself one of them HAS to have IT  (AA).  or both have AK  AK-QQ, JJ………  shit!!!  Finally clocked is called……. and I felt I’m only beat MAYBE by solid guy next to me.  I call………………..

Of course AA…………  blah   Clown says he had AK.

I miss.  We do make the money, but within 8 hands after bubble.  Jam AJ, guess who had AA again.  Yea.  OUT in 386 of 3934.

That savage went on to finish 3rd for 138k.  The guy on my left during this hand finished 2nd for 212k.  UNREAL

Oh well, on to the next one.

*I was VERY close to folding many times.  Just thought if I’m wrong, I’ll hate myself.  lol
