Interesting hand on day 1A of this tourney. Villain has recently been moved to the table and my only impression is that he is a young thinking player. I dont think I had played a hand with him at the table until this one. Effective stacks are 150k and blinds are 1.5/3k with 300 ante.

Folds around to me in cutoff and I open A7hh for 7k, button flats as does villain in bb. Flop is QJ10hh and villain leads for 17k.

I think his range for leading here is extremely narrow. In fact i cant really see anything other than exactly two pair leading for 3/4 pot on this flop. I also dont think he ever flats QQ, JJ or AK. Even 1010 seems like a stretch. I decide to raise. I think my range looks extremely strong here as my range for raising would normally be any set and possibly AK. Im clearly flatting with things like AQ and probably AA and KK.

So I decide to raise to 40k (sizing might be too small). Button folds and BB tanks for about 3 min and calls.

Turn is an Ace. Villain checks to me and I decide to check behind. At this point I feel like the free card is more than worth it. I think my outs are any ace, 7, or heart. I also think I can bet alot of blank rivers and take it down against an unimproved two pair.

River is a non heart 5. Villain checks again and I bet 45k.

Thoughts about the hand?

WP!!! I agree that flop raise should be larger to GII on most turns. Villain's most likely hand on the flop is two pair and some pair + draw/combodraw. Once he checks the river, his range is fairly capped so I think we can credibly rep a wide value range on the river including slowplayed Kx, sets, and AT+. Now that I think of it, it is a fairly good spot for villain to XR river with Kx if he thinks we are capable of going for thin value. If that is tha case, we will have a much wider river betting range than river calling range. As played, I think your line is very good and will have high success rate of folding out two pair.
