Floated flop and turn with intation  to take it down if he stops if he  because there is draws in his range and I have outs. When he bets river my thinking is that he have busted draws, complete air, or nuts somehow.  Interested in your thoughts, guys.

Pretty aggressive play this early in a big MTT. Too high variance for my taste. Plus, all draws miss.

I think you're repping a hand similar to what he's actually holding. I wouldn't be surprised a bit if he rolled over a Jx hand. Seems like he's simply value betting you on all streets. I think he checks the turn with a draw and bets again on the river if he fails to connect.

As played it seems like a made hand of some type.

Why did you pick this spot for a random bluff? Doesn't seem like there are enough hands/history against villain to make a high variance play.

You're also giving him 2.5 to 1 on a river call.

If I were in the SB here and had a part of that flop I'm insta-calling your river shove because, as played, I would be putting YOU on a busted diamond draw.  Obv, like FK said, he's calling with any J, but from his point of view you prob wouldn't wait until the river to spring your trap if you had the J because of the diamond draw.  So when you suddenly shove the river he's prob calling you with any 9 as well.  I can't even begin to tell you how many times guys give me their whole stacks in the early levels of tournaments in blind vs. blind confrontations in situations like these.  If I were going to bluff at this I prob would have done it on the flop and if I'm called, I shut it down on later streets and if reraised I fold right there.  Generally speaking, I read double floats as weakness or a marginal hand hoping to get to a cheap showdown.  If the latter were true, as FK said he kept value betting anyway, so he didn't mind getting to showdown.

Yeah I don't think this is a good time to attemt a bluff. He has show strength on every street and you have shown weakness (just calling). Your representation is not believable.

FWIW when I plan to attempt a bluff, I want my last action in the hand (previous round) to be strong (i.e. bet, raise or re-raise) and my opponents last action to be weak (i.e. check or call).

As Fk said you are likely repping the hand he has.

From his perspective you probably would raise made hand on flop or turn to protect it from draws. So on river, he would probably be willing to call you liter than usual since there is so many missed draws in your range that you could bluff… So it's not good bluffing spot in my eyes… Tho, I'm little confused with him betting the river and not checkig letting you bluff.

Thank you. It confirmed what I taught after hand. My story didn't make sense on river. But what a bout two street float? was it reasonable? He actually had 99 for nut full house 🙂

It's not the type of board you want to float 2 streets with.

Or rather … it's one you'll only want to bluff on when the river completes one of the draws out there.

If you wanted to bluff this board you'd tell a better story raising the turn and betting 2/3 pot on the river. of course we now know his hand but that aside your story is far more believable.

Conversely you can now flip this hand on its head and begin to play your hand this way when you do have it on a similar board since that line looks weaker and tends to not make sense with a thinking player.

Just do what they don't want or don't expect you to do and good things will happen.
