Hey Guys, as a new member I have watched just a couple videos, one by Bigdog and the other by Wein…and I am clearly lacking in the knowledge of when to jam all the chips in. Whether it be mid and/or late stages I need help.

I have been playing for a year and started out as a pure small ball player. I am somewhat skilled in the early stages at building stacks and have no problem extracting value and mixing it up. But when things change and people start jamming, I am lost. I push too many draws( like the hand I posted for review) and all to often I am on the wrong end of the races, and truly have no guidelines or parameters when in these situations.

The video I watched from Bigdog, he talks about not missing any shoving spots. This is the knowledge I am hoping to aquire. Some of the hands seem crazy to shove, but I see its the spot ,not the hand.

Can you recommend any particular videos or material to guide me through this area, its what is keeping me from advancing to the next level.

Thanks in advance,

Im sure the pros will chime in. Its very difficult to answer your question we could right a book on it. Read the strat forums and watched the videos and you will start to see when you need to jam, when you need to 3bet jam and when you should call a jam. Im just talking preflop atm, there is much to the art of jamming 🙂

ya there are so many different dynamics that may or may not be involved in these situations your talking about. Alot will come with experience but I suggest watching some of the theory vids that ronfez recommended and post some hands  in the strategy forus when your not sure of the spot regardless of the results. We will hopefully get you going in the right direction.

a lot of it is mathematically based, but the math changes based on each opponent.

As bigdog said, just watch the videos and ask a lot of questions in the hand history section 🙂
