You see sometimes you encounter these unknowns shoving ridiculous amount from early position where they have no reason to.

If you wake up with AA or KK it is really no-brainer. But my problem is QQ and AK

Since on MTT you have fewer sample size over your opponent, it is hard to tell .

What do you guys do ?

Low buy ins? probably just AQ AK or small pocket pair they don´t want to play post flop with, with 35bb- i am inclined to call/isolate, with more than 35bb depends, if i am close to FT, how other´s stack is, how many players behind…

Hard for me to imagine folding QQ or AK unless it’s a REALLY big shove, like 80BB or something.

Shouldn’t it matter though? calling/isolating with 30BB, 40BB, 50BB … ?

If it is right call with 50BB than shouldn’t it be better with 80BB because there are more to gain?

Or is it because to minimize the variance?

There’s more to gain and also more to lose. Most importantly, your opponent’s range ought to be stronger as his shove gets larger.
