Hello everyone,

My name is nick and this is my very first post on tpe. I am really happy that i decided to join this site about a month ago and i cant get enough of the videos! Anyways, the reason why i am here is to first ask if any of you play mtts on betonline and if so, contact me. The mtts on that site are a real shit show because you start with 1k in chips, the blinds are 8mins, and theres NO antes! They do run a few freezeout tournies which start with 1500 and 10 min blinds. But for the most part, BOL runs mainly rebuy mtts. I've been grinding these mtts for about 2 months straight and i find myself in terrible situations. I usually am down to 20 or less bbs and i look for a spot to shove and thats where my question is, whats a good gambling range with 20bbs? I know you need to know specifics, and i wish i can give you specifics, but i cant right off the top of my head. Mainly, im looking for someone to ghost me and give me some opinions because i find myself playing too tightly and folding down to 5bbs constantly on that site. It's quite common that the average stack at the final table of these mtts are 10bbs or less. PM me if you play or would like to ghost me sometime.

Welcome to TPE! A few bits of advice:

– Never post that you’re looking for someone to ghost you. I think you mean that you’re looking for someone to sweat you (i.e. watch you play), but if you’re looking for actual ghosting (having someone else make your decisions for you), that’s against the terms of service of most poker sites.

– Don’t get caught up in thinking about the specific site you’re playing on. It’s far more a question of the situations you’re in at the table than the site itself.

– If there are no antes in play, playing tight is usually reasonably correct up to a point. But the only way to really know your shoving ranges is to use a calculator like ICMIZER – we can’t give you any hard and fast rules.

– There’s no such thing as a ‘good gambling range’. You’re not looking to ‘gamble’. You’re looking to make optimally profitable preflop shoves. The notion of ‘gambling’ implies that a) it’s unprofitable but you’re doing it anyway, or b) you’re not sure how profitable it is at all, neither of which are situations you’d be aiming for. The only time you’re truly gambling is when you’re making a play that is entirely neutral in EV terms.

Good luck!
