yo guys, so heres the history with villian, he recently woke up with a shit ton of cards, AA n KK back to back just over an orbit ago, he was also playing aggro. So basically i have a ton of chips, position, and a sick hand to 3bet bluff pre with so i raise.

get a pretty dreamy flop……..any issues with flop/turn sizing? i bet turn size hoping he would raise but he didnt, anyways how do u approach the river 30k in pot, and i have 30k behind, do you like my 10k bet? wwyd? and what are you putting villian on? are we ever checking this back?

Kinda looks like he has a medium pair like 88 or 1010, maybe A9 with the Ac. I don't put him on  a set because I think he would have put in a raise on the turn or the flop.I also rule out a flush with overcards because I think this type of player would play it more aggressive on the flop.I think I'm betting a little more on the turn like 8540 so I can make a 2/3-3/4 bet on the river. I'm not checking behind on this river; I don't think flush over flush happens nearly enough times for me to check behind and lose value.

I don't like the 10000 bet on the river. I much perfer to setup a pot sized river shove. The small bet on the turn sets it up perfectly.  (30k in the pot, 30k in your stack) You COULD bet a little more on the turn (if you bet like 6500/7000) instead of 5800 then there would be something like 33000 in the pot and you would have about 27000 left so that makes a pot sized river shove even more tempting for him to call since you don't even have a pot sized bet left. I don't like betting 2/3, 3/4 of your stack on the river as it looks pretty strong and probably not a bluff in villans eyes. Shoving a pot sized bet on the river may actually look 'bluffier' to him and you may get looked up.

The pros, especially HITTHEPANDA and WEIN do this ALLLL the time. It's on of the things I've learned since joining TPE

Check out Wein's “Building a Pot” Theory video for more on setting up your bet sizing correctly.

I agree also that I think he has a mid pocket pair and picked up a flush draw on the turn IMO. Seems like hes playing pot control OOP so 88 or 1010 with a club is very reasonable. DEF not checking river EVER here. If hes on a club draw he missed so 10k or pot hes not calling either way. He could even have flopped a set of 7's or 9's and is slowplaying (because you 3bet pf and bet the flop and turn) and with your pot sized shove you get his whole stack. I think there are many combos of hands here he could have that pay you off on the river.

This is one of those situations where you do not want a pot sized river shove – you actually want less than that to make the odds more enticing to call. I doubt a single pair calls a pot sized river shove on this board but if you bet the turn bigger and get called you can now shove the river and give better calling odds.

I probably bet like 9000-9500 on the Turn so I'm not shoving as much at the end.

agree with this – 9k on the turn doesnt look that much stronger imo, but it gives you a 3/4 pot bet on the river which means he might level himself into a call a bit easier
