I've been a big fan of Benny Spindler, who has been ripping it up, live, and online for years.  Here is a glimpse into the poker genius that this guy is.  If you aren't watching replays on pokerstars.tv, you're simply missing some really good poker.

Hand 77 at 9:09 – 78s and JQs

Why did he call there? Maybe there's some sort of table dynamic we can't see, but that's a crazy call on the river against someone who's played the hand so straightforward.

It's a pretty easy call considering the T pairs on the river. There are less combos of hands that beat him and villain is unlikely to be value betting a better 7. There are enough missed draws to make the call profitable. If I had QJ in that spot, I would have overbet shoved river to compensate for having so many bluffs and few value combos in my river range to offer Spindler a worse price on the call. Overbetting is also the only way he folds what looks like 7x, 88, and 99 on that river the way he played it. If we think he has some weaker tens in his range then bluffing river is probably not a good play, but I don't think he would c/c many tens on that wet flop.
