Yesterday i spoke about 88 and 99 if some of you read my post, today i want to ask about something i never did in the past and now I do.

I call a shove from the BTN very light like Ax, if im like 10-20bb.

In the past I never did this and I felt lot more happy with my game overall, of course I hear bigdog saying PLAY FOR WIN….but I also know some guys say PLAY FOR THE WIN with a excuse to make bad calls or moves.

What is a good range to call a BTN shove If im in the BB with 15-20bb. I know it depends how tight the villain is and so on but generally speaking??

A6+, 44+, KQ???

Generally speaking I think we gotta be somewhat tight with a 15-20bb stack vs a BTN shove. I start calling off light vs a BTN shove with about 8-12bb's because those stack sizes are picked on more in my opinion.

As you know, its all situational and depends on villian and your image.

Im assuming he is covering us, in your example?

His stack size makes a difference to me is he short as well or does he have a monster stack? I am of ocurse much more willing to call a 10 bbs or a monster stack  stack than a 30 bbs stack

but in general I would call with a very tight range 88+ ATs+ AJo+ maybe KQs

I just feel shoving or restealing is a better option even with weaker hands

In general your calling range has to be tighter than your shoving/3bet range, i don't like calling raggy aces vs  10-15+ bb shoves from the button thats not to say i don't depends on how agg the villain is but generally my calling range is fairly tight vs 15+bb button jams like A10s+, AJo+, 66+….like ike said better to fold and find a +ev jam or 3bet jam spot. wink

Play for the win means making the right decisions and playing aggresively. Its very hard to call off your stack aggresively.

Your question is too general there are no cookie cutter right or wrong answers in this spot. It all depends on your reads on your opponents, HUD stats come into their own in these types of spots.

A general observation is that a btn shove should be tighter an Sb vs Bb because there is one extra player that may call.

When a very tight player suddenly wakes up and shoves 19bb from the btn dont look for a excuse to call.

Agree with the above – so read (villain) dependent but also your own image is important.

Depending on both of these I could call with very mediocre holdings or I could fold some pretty big hands.

Situational.

HUDS & observation ftw.
