The BB was sitting out. The sb was new. I wanted to try something
here and shoved to get a fold. I felt he was a resteal. But if i 3 bet, I
couldn’t fold to his 4 bet shove and so I shoved. Is this too spewy. I normally call in position. Then play it passive.
How would you guys play this. Thanks

I think flatting here without a read on the SB is probably the best option, and re-evaluate after the flop. 3-bet shove is a huge overshove and you’re risking over 17k to just win 4.3k, you aren’t getting called by any pair worse than 99, and only AK maaayyyybeee AQ is calling you that you have beat. I think there is value in flatting in position here too.

this could be a resteal or a value raise.

there is the other option of folding, maintaing a m of 24 and stealing the next hand and seeing what he does, without putting him on a resteal raise you can put him on jacks, and better, ace jack suited or better and so we are coinflipping at best, and dominated at worse.

I think LATER ON in the tournament if this hand came up the shove would probably be a great play but with blinds only at 150/300 it’s a little to early to go to the felt with 99 BUT I have a very bad habit of making that quick reaction play and INSTA regretting it when he snap calls me with AA or similar.

I’d flat with prs 2’s thru 10’s. Ur way too deep for a 3bet shove. More value in calling here and then re-evaluate.
