Hey guys, what do you think about this defense? Your range w/o antes? Thanks in advance.

I'd fold this one, though it's closer than it may seem. It's an easy call against a BN open, the problem here is that an UTG opener with a short stack is going to have such a strong range that it's hard for you to have much equity and hard to realize the equity you have. There are a lot of flops where even if you make a pair it's still hard for you to continue to a bet because of how strong his range is.
I'd probably continue (raise or call) with something like: {22+,A2s+,A2o+,KTo+,K6s+,QTo+,Q8s+,JTo,J8s+,T9o,T7s+,98o,97s+,87o,86s+,76s,65s}

I don't think calling here is the worst play in the world if the opener is a weaker player, but generally it's going to be a tough spot. I think folding is preferable given UTG's likely range, but I wouldn't fold it if UTG was a complete drooler or something. Definitely calling vs a BTN open though. I think Andrew's continuation range is pretty accurate, with the occasional adjustment based on our edge vs villain. The weaker the player, the wider we can call, and vice versa.

I fold. The flops you want are very easily outweighed by the flop you get. You would love 10 8 5…but what about 10 5 2 or J 9 3…You only do well if you get a lucky flop. Easy fold. It's not like he is on the button picking on you…Every time he does it, he has to open himself up to the table. I would rather shove on someone with that hand where I force them to play for their effective stack.
