Hi Guys,

I'm playing my first live rebuy MTT on the weekend.  I have a very limited experience with rebuy tournaments.  I'm hoping for some basic pointers from you guys.  The tournament allows for unlimited rebuys during the first 9 levels.  Starting stacks are 5000.  The structure is as follows…

25-25

25-50

50-100

75-150

100-200

150-300

200-400

300-600

400-800

End of Rebuy – add on period

500-1000

1000-2000

1500-3000

2000-4000

3000-6000

4000-8000

5000-10000

7500-15000….

The levels seem like a big jump after level 10.

The casino is adding $5000 to first place.  They are only paying 5 spots.

Most of the people playing this tournament are generally pretty bad.

I think my basic strategy is to see alot of flops early, rip it in with draws, hope to build a big stack before the rebuy ends.  Playing conservative probably wont allow me to get a big stack fast enough.

I know I can't become a rebuy expert overnight, but I'm hoping you can share some basic tips and help me take this thing done.

Thanks!

always buy in for the max right from the go.

if your BR allows it spew around with mid pairs, SC, bigAx and broadways. Go broke on any piece of board or draw.

but do so only if your expensive big stack you will get this way also is worth it based on your edge compared to the field.

If you dont have an edge to use the big stack or your BR is too small then just play standard ABC poker
