Hey TPE,

About a month ago I was refered to this article about MTT Bankroll Management, …..tion-tips/ . This article has been very helpful in my attempt to restructure my game, but it doesnt cover multi tabling, so this is why I’m asking.

I have used the info in this article to help create rules based on my tolerance’s. Right now my rules are 50 buyins for STT’s, 100 buyins for 18,27 & 45 PLR SNG’s and 250 for 180 PLR SNG’s and Large Field MTT’s. If I were to play a mix of low field SNG & 180’s and up my rule 175 buyins.

Right now I grind 4 tables at once, but my ultimate goal is to be a full time Mulit tabling MTT Grinder(12x tables). I just don’t know the math on how to up the number of tables while moving up in stakes. Should I continue to 4 table while moving up, add tables when I get to the MTT level I’m wishing to be at or should I start adding tables when I’m at the lower limits, then move up? The main reason I’m confused is this…

Let’s say you have $150 online and you want to 4 table while playing. Based on my rules I should be playing 4- $1.50 18-45 PLR SNG’s. This equals out to 4% of your bankroll. Now if we have the same BR and want to 6 Table, we should be still be playing $1.50 18-45 PLR SNG’s, but now this represents 6% of your BR. If we want to start adding $3.50 BI’s into the mix, with 4 tabling you should add a $3.50 in at $200($1.50×3 & a $3.50), with 6 tables you should add a $3.50 into the mix at about the $180 mark. This makes no sense to me because we are using more of our bankroll when 6 tabling!?!?

Can someone please explain where I’m going wrong or what I need to add to fill in the gap in my BR system.

Thank you,

Ryan

Interesting question.

My understanding would be that the rules you have set up are for when you start off. Meaning if you play 4x $1.50 18-45 PLR SNG's then it perfectly fine to play 12 of those at the same time with your current BR. As at the end of the day BR Management is just beating variance so if you play 100 games over a year or 100 games in a day it has the same affect on your BR.

Also, I'd recommend loading more tables at a smaller buy-in before moving up rather than moving up and then loading more tables.
