I’d like to get input from anyone not just the pros. I created an account on Bovada almost a month ago and noticed they offer “triple ups” which simply are 9 handed SNGs which pay triple the buy in to the final 3 players standing. In my modest experience with other online sites I haven’t seen this option. It’s pretty clear that SNGs/DONs/etc are a good way to level mtt variance/ build a roll and I have been playing about 70% triple ups vs about 30% mtts this past month, for about 3-4hrs maybe 4-5 nights a week. I binked a mtt my second day on bovada (i should note that i find bovada significantly softer than merge/lock in almost all aspects, sorry Rivermen123) and have been doing this since to protect/build a bovada roll. I have had success with the triple ups since starting, I have a 72% ROI on $3 triple ups over 86 games and a 42% ROI on the $7 triple ups over 29 games. I realize this basically means nothing cuz it’s such an incrediy small sample size, but it got me thinking as to what is a better means of leveling mtt variance with SNGs…

The pay structure of DONs and triple ups are obv, and most 9 handed stts pays, for example in a $3 stt roughly (1st = $13.50, 2nd = $8.50, 3rd = $5). So in a triple up outlasting 66% of the field yields a flat 3x buyin, while a DON yields a 2x buyin for beating half the field (usually a 10/6 handed). In a stt top prize is more than either of these top prize, but 2nd place in the stt is less than placing 3rd in a triple up vs the same number entrants. I hope this makes sense but basically I am wondering over a large volume, which should I be spending my time grinding? Is there even a difference? Does it even matter?

I should also note that personally I have found play to be worse in the triple ups than the other 2 (I just don’t think the players at these levels understand the diff strat to be successful in this form as opposed to mtts) maybe I am biased cuz I have had better results there but I have generally done well in these 3 forms

Thanks for your time
