Yeah don't really like it. People normally isolate much tighter out of position, so it's more likely he picked up a hand than when he was in position.

Even if there is no weak butt limp, without checking the numbers first, this shove has got to be big +ev.

SB could be raising with any two bec it's such a perfect steal spot, esp with the added limp 3k.

These are the kind of plays that I sometimes shy away from in the lower levels if the original raiser is a lagtard gambler that dislikes folding with marginal cards.

If he had a premium, I think u feel gd about your play and move on.

looks as if the sb is trying to take advantage of a button limp so there is nothing wrong with your shove here. The 2 card range of the raiser is very wide with the button limp so i would definitely 3 bet jam your 20 bb stack in this spot. glgl

Would this not be based on read/stats of the player? The sb only has 28 bb to begin here as well….not that he can't do this with marginal hands, but can we safely generalize in this situation?

Thanks for the replys. Yeah he had 77 and snap called the shove. I had already made up in my mind i was shoving here from a button raise or limp. The small blind raise through me off a bit and I decided to make the play anyway. I dont think I had many hands on him so didnt have much of a read.

I don't mind this at all but reads are really key here.
