Hey guys this is my first forum post, Ive been a TPE member for about a month and love it! I feel i have improved my game hugely and look forward to gettin better and better (hopefully:p)

Anyway I thought I'd post this hand i just played earlier today where I got rivered and knocked out. I thougt this was a really difficult spot and would never have put him on the hand he had, I'm curious too see if you guys think i could have got away from this hand or if I just got super unlucky? should I have shoved on the river or just called? I was super deep and cruising along nicely so really interested in your guys opinions as I find this a really difficult spot. Cheers.

It's a call or fold. Re-raising makes little to no sense.

What hands do you think he played this way and will call a jam with that we beat?

This deep, I'd be betting bigger on flop and turn to maximize my winnings. If he's on a draw he'll still call bets closer to 2/3 pot most of the time.

Thanks for the feedback, at the time I felt he was making a move, but looking back on it, it was the wrong move for sure.

In the future I will look at increasing my betting sizes.

Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate itsmile

Agreed u didn’t have to go bust here.. Once he raises the river I think it’s a call or fold.. But a reraise is bad just like the previous poster explained.

IMO I’m calling this river bet his range is extremely polarized… It’s either a 6 or nothing.. And I feel our hand is to strong to fold.

Note that the player called down with a 56 and try to play more pots with Villian.. He will eventually gift u his stack

I agree river is call or fold, but mainly I want to talk about this:  “at the time I felt he was making a move.”  If he was making a move, just call.

Also think your preflop raise of his limp should be bigger as well, at least 450. This is especially the case if you notice that he has been limping a lot.

yeah I'm currently working on my bet sizing as I get deeper in tournaments, the villian was reletivley new to the table as well so should have approached the hand with pehaps a bit more caution than i did.

I would fold this river. You only beat a bluff and people just dont bluff like this very often. He is only repping a 6 when he does this. Raising has got to be the worst option ever. If you think your opponent is bluffing and you can beat his bluffs just call call call no need to ever raise.

Like what everyone said.  If you raise pre, make it bigger.  Like COOLERS said, re-raising the riv makes no sense.  You didn't need to bust on this year.

One of the TPE pros once told me, FOLDING is the best move you have at times in poker.  Don't be afraid.  You allowed your ego to dictate your move cause your thought he was making a move.

Learn every day.  glgl in future.

Time to fire up the next tourney! laugh

I would just complete pre, there's no sense with raising here from the sb no matter the sizing.

I'd likely check the turn to him to let him barrel his bluffs, though I don't mind the lead.

On the river I would probably sigh fold, there's very little you beat, and this is a strong line even for a spew monkey. As others have said, if I did think I had the best hand I would call the raise but not jam.

By the way, when you post a hand try to leave off the result, you'll find you get better and more interesting advice that way.

yeah i just need to get over the hand and move on at the piont, not jam for sure, i hate having to lay hands down like that but its gotta be done.

Ok next time i'll leave off the result

TPE FTW!
