Bovada $11 10k MTT

The turn threw me for a loop.

Bet/calling? Check/shoving? Should I be thinking about folding this at some point?

pre flop is fine.

flop i make it bigger on this wet board about 3k or so.

turn is interesting as we block KQ pretty strong, 99 and 22 he should most likely raise flop guess TT would also do so. JJ got there which he might play this way

i think he still has a lot of flushdraws which he is checking behind but calling if we bet.

there are also a lot of potential floats with Ac/Kc in his range i assume as he can very well bluff you off your hand on such a board

if we are up against T9, JT, J9, 87 we still have outs if called.

bet/calling i dont know if we are that good in shape if have the feeling raise on turn are often a much stronger

looking at this if we bet i think we get only called by FDs and maybe 88 all other hands we are beat. if we check he might stab with some of his FD and floats.

so i think c/c is what i tend to do turn and then check/x depending on river

cheers

yeah bigger on the flop , as for turn it really is a tough spot to be in. I would be unsure what the best line is to take here, i think we should either b/c or just shove turn, but because you bet only half pot on the flop you're going to have to shove turn for 22k into 8k , so thats more then twice the pot , i doubt thats terrible if we think v is on flush draws and we want him to call with a hand like KJcc or AJcc. There's not many combo's of Qx in vilians range either as you block those. V could quite possibly have a hand like JT/J9s , but there's other hands which may be willing to call a turn shove. I also think if were going to bet here we cant fold to a shove. At these effective stacks with an overpair your hand is pretty strong and i'll find it difficult to fold here. As for the c/c that's not a line i would take here , i mean if we check and v checks back we are allowing them a free card , even though they wont hit their flush that often otr , there's a lot of merit in betting or shoving turn to get value from draws rather then checking. There's going to be a lot of river cards we don't like , even a Q otr that would not be great., Also if we check v may bet turn and shove a lot of rivers that would put us in a tough spot. V may bluff a lot of rivers. For instance hero c/c turn , river is 6club hero checks v shoves. They may shove their with a lot of hands that don't have much std and turn their hands into a bluff, like with the bottom of their range Adiamond Theart and represent a flush otr. Obv ingame if we knew that we could call , but their range may also consist of flushes otr , so its hard to make that call there. We could call on blank rivers thats for sure , but i think there's more value in betting turn rather then checking. 🙂

as played with your sizing otf, i'd probably bet and re-evaluate river, i'd probably shove on blank rivers because if v did have Qx in their range (for the straight) they would very likely raise it up OTT or if they two pair type of hands like JT so when they call turn their range would be marginal/draw otr. So if we shoved river we may get called by a hand like AJcc were as if we check they may very likely check those back. Though at the same time , we could c/c river on a blank and allow v to bluff with their missed draws, they may also bet AJ for value thinking they are good. So yeah im not sure which line would be better in that spot, i’d probably guess c/c as i reckon their’s going to be more draws in their range rather then marginal hands.

Definitely think we should use a bigger flop sizing on this board texture.  Also agree that we should be bet/calling turn, this would be my standard play and would need a pretty strong read that villain is a huge nit postflop to bet/fold.  As played I think we should just call the turn bet, and should chck/call most rivers, probably any non-club.  I'm not in love with folding river even if it is a club, but it is probably safe to say that most villains in a $10 Bovada tournament are never turning Jx into a bluff in this spot, so I think we can pretty comfortably fold.  Any non club river I am check/calling as played, including the Qheart
