WSOPC $365 Deep Stack

Blinds 200/400/50

Hero 9600 MP

V1 7k cutoff weak/passive playing too many hands and giving up when he misses.

V2 16k button loose/passive

V3 35K sb tighter young woman. She has 3bet more frequently than most. In her last 3bet pot she showed TT.

Hero recently lost half his stack in limped pot j9s  < 87s on 987 flop. Might be perceived as slightly tilted.

Preflop hero raises 1025 mp with ATo cutoff button sb call. Bb folds

Flop  (4900) As7s2c

Sb checks

Hero?

To me this is a tricky spot. It’s very likely i have the best hand since I expect AK and AQ to 3 bet frequently. At the same time there aren’t many good value targets besides flush draws. I feel if i shove it’s purely a protection bet since i don’t see many weaker hands calling. It’s the wrong price for flush draws. I don’t think raggedy aces are very common.  I also don’t think AQ or AJ will fold so the bet doesn’t work as a bluff either.

I feel if i make a smaller bet i might get value from worse but playing later streets will be very tough to play with SPR <1. Thoughts?

I don’t know what adjustments you make for having 3 opponents. At least you have position on the one who is good. I’m guessing there’s not a value in C-betting a 4-way pot. I guess I try to check it down.

Another way to look at it is V1 and V2 won’t call if they missed, so a small C-bet on the flop then helps you narrow their range (would they call a hand like 88 before and after the flop). If you get a caller then I guess reevaluating on the turn is in order. If the third club hits I would be less concerned than usual about a flush because the ace is already out there. You probably have the best hand.

Maybe your value target is Kx or a non-ace broadway. Then you would check the flop and hope a face card hits the turn. They might take aces out of your range by checking the flop if it checks through.

Im not sure I understand why u think turn will be awkward; this shallow ur pretty much just betting flop and shoving or ck/c the turn. I bet 2k on the flop. Could go smaller, anyways we’ll have like 70% PSB left on the turn or whatever. I guess u could ck flop but, idk makes shit pretty weird 4 way

Against better players I would probably check this flop, but I think with two of the players in the hand being loose/passive types it’s a relatively comfortable bet flop/shove turn spot, since they can have a lot of worse Ax here, even at this stack depth. They’ll also peel too many suited hands preflop and struggle to fold flopped pairs.

I don’t see why you would ever consider shoving this flop for 8500 into 5000 or whatever. I can’t see how that would get more value than betting a more reasonable sizing like 2500 – a huge bet into 3 players is liable to get too many folds, but your hand is neither strong enough to want massive value nor weak enough to want folds.

Worth noting whether you have the Ts or not – if you do, villains have fewer flush draws, so I’d be a little more likely to check in that instance. When you have no spade, I think it’s a bet versus passive players.
