Hey panda im looking to get staked but it seems parttimepoker and 2+2 lean toward stacking players at low levels and low volume games. How did you go about getting stacked?Im a winning player but my numbers wont blow any one away opr says i have 12,000 in profit this year with a 42% roi sharkscope says 6months 5,427 13%roi.I was wondering if you think (knowing you have been staked) if a staker would be interested?

sure, I would suggest posting in 2p2 staking marketplace. r un some stakes and build some credit.

Could you give me some advice on things I should improve for my next live tourney?
Are you playing any more epts?
hey it was great playing with you twice 😀 I would suggest opening up a bit, maybe taking some creative lines like triple barreling against someone you know only has 1 pair most of the time. a lot of the time you would just cbet and give up and if you do that for a couple hours you will obviously get credit if you run a big bluff vs the right opponent. you could open up more suited gappers in early/mid position and use those as your bluff hands postflop if need be, or you can just cbet/ give up etc… try 3betting light more, you had me on your right – perfect candidate.
i think you played solid though, although the Ac check raise i already told you i woulda just shipped the river, hes never folding for extra 10k but if you ship he will be like omg this kid has the nut flush everytime zomg take 10 mins and fold
I was pretty self aware of the things you mention + some more whilst playing. Humour me for a second. The problem I had was thinking traditionally A high boards are not good to barrel especially two tone as a bluff (esp oop) since your opponent should usually have an Ace or a flush and will call two streets and thus you often need to fire three to get the job done. In a cash game playing with regs i'd know how to define people's ranges much better and thus to be able to do this much more liberally. In a tournament where the chips I have often have greater value than those I am trying to win + facing unknown ranges and frequencies, such as the ppossibility that they call down all Aces – how do i decide when to bet once, twice or thrice?
E.g.You say when I know they have one pair specific. If you remember I iso'd utg limper with KJcc the young guy next to me called. I cbet an Ace high two tone board. In this situation I felt he would have a decent amount of middling one pairs in his range. I bet with the intention of betting the turn, then didn't follow through. He can have an Ace, I have no idea how wide he calls, same with a flush draw, but the thing that really concerned me is what if he calls 99 twice or is good enough to double float etc. Is the simple answer to just fire big on the turn and be done?
Opening up more suited connectors from mp: How low do you go? Would you open 5s4s from early position? What number of BB's would you stop opening sc's from early?
I didn't 3bet because I was worried about giving off tells and getting 4bet or peeled and flop check raised. This was the biggest live tourney i'd played in and I was intimidated by it much more than I would have imagined. Also, I really appreciated the advice on the bluff i ran. I am glad i was at least thinking that it was a decent spot. I was visibily tilted by it because of how quick he called. Like I felt that I must have been way off base thinking a bluff of that nature would work.
Thanks for the lesson in max value also :p
Regards
Chris
I've been playing with pokerstove and a fold equity calculator taking equity if called vs. calling range + times villan folds to figure out my EV. Tell me if this makes sense to you.
9 handed blinds 500/1000 100 ante
UTG-CO fold
BTN min raises to 2000
Pot = 4400
sb folds
HERO 20bb's deep in BB w/JTs – it's a profitable shove vs. non-nits because villan is only calling with top 10% hands and folding 90% of the time. When we shove JTs to make this profitable villan only needs to fold 72% of the time with the chips in pot pre. He's folding 90+% of the time per a common estimate and read of X villan.
Does this make sense?
Seems like this is also even more profitable doing this via the squeeze play. When a passive MP raiser comes in for 2.5x and gets the btn to call I can profitably shove JTs, 89s, 67s type hands 20bb's deep from blinds.
Does this make sense?
Satellite question:
Which would you play and why? A 10 man sat. for $110, one person wins entry to an $1100 event….10 min. levels. Or a 30 man same bi, 3 win entry to the same event…15 min levels. Assume competition is weak-avg and may not make the propper adjustments to the stucture.

i would probably play them both if i was looking for volume to grind. the first one preferred though

yeah definitely shove hands like broadways and suited connectors against late position opens they are profitable if they're opening wide. also villain would be calling top 10% say , but you can't know he's folding 90% because he's probably not opening 100%. make sure you factor that in

What are the HUD stats should one aim for to be a successful MTT player?
Ie:Flops seen, aggression, etc..
Thanks
Tim
don't worry about stats i didn't use a hud for a long time and had pretty good results because it made me pay more attention to the actual gameflow and player dynamics.
focus on playing good poker.

Been grinding the 18 mans on FTP. Been a lil profitable not over the top. About what volume size is good to judge my success in these?

sorry for not getting around to this for a while !
