This is a really close spot.  I don't think MUMU is ever doing this with worse than AQ, unless you two have history and he's just trying to isolate the short stack who is obv committed.  That's what makes his play look so strong is that he knows he will be playing for the rest of beatnutzz' stack.  If you fold it leaves you with roughly 27 bb's.  If you call and lose you will have 13 bb's.  I think I lean towards a fold here.  Theres a good chance you are dominated and if you lose you will be in shove fold mode.  This spot also depends on where you are at in the tournament.  If it is relatively close to the bubble then I for sure fold because then you still have a decent stack to bully some people and the bubble also more than likely makes their shove ranges smaller.  If not, you could argue getting it in here and if you win you will roughly have 60 bb's.  Interesting spot, would like to hear some TPE pros opinions.

I’m far from a pro but I snap fold here. Couple reasons.

1. When shorties 3bet and not make it a total jam it always ends up being strong

2. He’s been a 10/10 super nit.

3. He still got shoved on by the SB and SB’s are going to play very tight here

4. MUMU knows there’s a good chance you come along and he still jams.

Doubt I find good reasons to get it in if I keep going.

I fold here because beatnuzz is pot committed after his 3-bet and will call MUMU, so it will be a three-way situation, before it even gets back to you, if you decided call. If you lose, your stack can take a big hit from either player.  10/10 is pretty tight and SB shove is usually strong.

super snap call

you raised from MP, so your range is pretty wide to begin with. CO should shove AT+,66+ or something like that ..but it doesn't even matter since he only has 11bb and we have AQ.

as for the SB .. he is playing 38/24 and wants to get back at you for bluffing him. either one of those 2 facts are enough to fistpump call here.

This is close imo given the table scenario you described. I think its a fold though. You have only committed 3bb's to this pot and even though 11bb's shove in CO is not a lot of blinds, he is doing this with no fold equity (strength) and like Coolers said, when they put in most of their stack but leave just a little bit behind, it is a sign of strength most of the time. So really you are fighting for the other 7bb's or so left from other aggro villian (who really still has to have some sort of hand here), while you are praying to win some sort of flip vs original short stack jam.

Moral of the story, you are risking 17bb's when you have only invested 3bb's and you only have A high at this point.

Last thing. I would start opening smaller in later stages. You can min open this late and get same opening results as 3xing. It allows you to risk less, cbet more often and cheaper, not bloat pots, open more pots, etc.

i def agree with opening less than 3x Hawkeye

usually i am min raising or 2.2/2.3x at this stage b/c of the same reasons you said

i'm not sure why i raised that much – i think it might have had something to do with daryl jaces videos

not sure if you guys have watched them but sometimes he increases raise size depending on table dynamic etc for value esp if he knows hes getting called

I still take your point and agree with you though
