Villain is 50/36 over a 30 hand sample size and has been actively opening pots. There's approx. 255 runners left in the tourney and 234 get paid. My image is TAG.

Hero's play?

I ship it. But this stage of the tourney with this stack size is something that I definitely feel I need to work on.

Here raises to 2k in position and take a flop if he calls, I can't see him shipping worse then TT or AQ+ unless he's got a read on you. Just go off timing/feel if he reships on you and maybe call or not up to you but I would without reads.

You have the right idea. Know need to get fancy or try to be tricky with just 24bb. Lets ship it, watch him fold and collect chips. If we were deeper we would have other options. But here, just ship

If I am in thinking mode, I fold and wait for a better jam..

I just jam it here being in this position, if I was in the blinds I would just make it 3k and jam any flop if he calls, or call if he sticks it in on me.

Given those stats I jam all day long. Against a standard oppenent, I probably flat in position and play post flop with him.

I probably ship, no need to get fancy and let him catch a flop with a small 3 bet. With this stack size its jam or fold, if you can deal with the variance when somone calls and you are racing then ship it. Assuming this 2k gtd on stars is the $1 buy in you might even get called by AJ or worse!

i'd probably go something like ~2300/call and get it in on most flops if he flats. shipping is fine. i think folding is bad against someone this aggro.

Thanks for your responses.

Here's how the hand played out

My initial response was to just flat and take a flop, but once I considered how active the villain was I decided that I'm well ahead of his range, I have fold equity considering the stack sizes and we're close to the bubble which should give my shove more credit given that there are still bigger stacks to my left still yet to act before it gets around back to villain, so I decided to shove….. He snaps and tables (AKo)

Even agg players wake up with monsters. Given the result, it seems like Kuroshi's line was the best. If you had 19bb's, it would have been an easy shove and if he flips over AK, oh well, variance happens. With 25bb's maybe what Kuroshi said, throw out a small 3bet and if he 4bet ships we are good enough to lay it down, would be best.

What is everyones thought after the result? I feel like this is tough spot in mtt poker that happens alot, when you have 25bb's which is by no means down and out. Is this really necessary to put in 25bb's and risk getting caught by a monster? Like I said, 19bb's is a snap shove but 25bb's gives u a lot more room. I dont start to panic till about 15bb's. Again, thoughts after the result?
