This is in a $109 50k HS Wednesday or High Five series event on ACR. We are still in registration. Starting stack is 10,000 and registration ends at the 500/1000/100 level. ACR structures for the deep stack tournaments with huge prizepools always have a ton of levels early on to maximize the number of reentries they get. The next level is 350/700 400/800 450/900 500/1000

In hindsight, I see that I give villain a good opportunity to check/raise KJ and hands like 23c, 24c, 56c, 67c, 78c, as well as Q7-KQ. Because there seem to be a lot of Qx, villain can check raise bluff a lot on this turn. I think I have more Queens if we’re talking as a % of my range vs a % of his range. 22, AQ, QQ, AA is 10 combos of better hands than my own that I’d play this way. I think that means this is the bottom of my range. Maybe I have KcTx as well. QJss QTss too. If my whole range is going to be top pair+, maybe I should check my whole range back?

I dont know the field, but what kind of range do you give V to call 3 streets that is worst than your AT? (I assume you would bet 3 streets, is that correct?)

Maybe I’m way off in my thinking, but I don’t expect 3 streets here. When I bet turn, I expect to be chopping equity with the flush draws, getting called by wheel aces one more time. I would check back blank rivers because I expect to fold out worse aces, bet into flushes, bet into queens, etc.

Calling three streets on blank rivers is probably nothing since I expect villain to ck/raise the turn Qx now. This brings me back to wanting to check back turn. or even flop.

I like betting flop and turn, villain should have all Ax that we beat and plenty of flush draws. I think it makes sense to get value from this range on the turn as opposed to on the river. I can’t fold to this sizing on the turn, getting 5:1 he has to have so few bluffs to profit on the call.

I am still divided by want to bet turn or not, I think stack sizes make is difficult to bet turn, you both will have about 16.5k on a ~12.5k pot otr, if V is on a flush draw, he have about 16% chance with 8 outs (you hold a blocker), and I think V will fire a barrel otr when you check turn with his missed draws, weaker and stronger aces, and off course the Q; small pocket pair also can check call a small bet otr, but probably folding for a bet ott. I think check turn and calling or betting non club rivers is good.

Steve tells me this hand was discussed in-depth on next week’s episode of Heads Up Poker Podcast but I’ll give you the run down I got when we reviewed Sunday.

Mike thought correctly that i was just clicking buttons. Flop seemed to have options, but betting flop, checking back turn, calling all blank rivers will net so much against his range. Relative to cbet/folding vs his dang K2cc or whatever etc, this seems like the way way way preferred route.
