In my experiences so far… Which are limited I’m still fairly new to the world of mtt’s overshoves like this are rarely AA-KK, I’d say best bet your flipping or chopping… I suppose an argument could be made for folding if you don’t want to risk your tourney on a flip just yet ( to nitty for my taste 😉 I don’t think villan is ever going to be turning over a worse ace or king in this spot. I’d definitely call and if he flips over AA-KK so be it.

Yeah, like others said, REPPIN away………….. NEVER folding it to his jam.  You do have a premium.  Mostly he has AK-AT 44-99……….  Lets be honest, it's a $3 on http://FTP…….  he could be doing it with Qs8h, cause he thinks it cool.

First of all its not an overshove at all.

He is basically reshoving 25BB or about 10x your opening.

there is 5908 in the pot and you are risking 4605 to win so you need 4605/(5908+4605)=43% equity to BE

against a very tight range like this AA-99,AKo-AQo,AKs-ATs,KQs we have 51.8% equity.

its a super standard call.

Things like this are really basic and should be done by yourself on a regular basis.

Give them a range, calculate your pot odds, calculate your equity vs range and finally explore with what other hands you can call given that you need X% equity.

cheers

thanks for the comments guys… I probs should explain a little why I ask the question….as  I simply think it is super standard call too. And I did “break his arm” calling. However, I have been re-evaluating playing AK in relation to the concept of “tourney life”. ie not looking to take any flips until the business end of the tournament. Why put myself at risk of a 50/50 when I feel my edge over this field is better than the pot odds this situation is offering me. I'm really trying to “unpack” my game at the moment and question EVERYTHING I do, hence you may see some really daft comments/questions from me. This way I may expose some bad habits I have that may be holding me back. I just feel if I can make some minor improvements in vital decisions I can then hopefully dramatically increase my win rate.
