I've been pretty active as we're getting fairly late in the tourney.  At this point I think there were around 80 people left.

I have a few questions on this hand:

1.  Should I shove instead of 3 bet since I'm not folding and I have less than 20 BB's?

2. Can I ever actually fold to the 4 bet from the BB?

3.  Did I play the hand right as played?

1.  You're not actually 3 betting here.  He just limped.  I think shoving is better because he might look you up with 66 77 88  on  a shove whereas he probably folds them here.  However, I think either way it's fine as long as you don't fold post flop if cliffy just calls you.  No matter what hits the board just jam it (unless it's a J).

2.  No, way too much overlay when you factor in AK and AQ in his range.

3. Yeah I think it's fine although I'd probably just shove.

Oops yeah I guess there was just a limper so not a 3 bet, my bad.

Thanks for the feedback.  In these spots in the future I'll just jam.

I think in a majority of the time you encounter this situation you are probably ahead in a six max game. His 3-bet shove is a little scary but there could be a plethora of reasons for his choice, most of them probably being the wrong choice. I personally cannot play jacks to save my life and I am always interested in reading threads concerning them.

less than 20 bigs you would be normally 4x the limper  which you would have so much invested its just better to ship it. We dont want to play JJ multiway and if he has a bigger pair so be it. This is a hand that under 20bigs we wont be getting away from preflop  imo.

I would shove, factor his limp into your M, and it’s 5(definitely a shoving M). Also over cards flop all the time and you are going to have to play a huge pot relative to stacks in a marginal situation post flop.

Thanks for all the input guys.  I will definitely be shoving in these spots in the future.
