If he’s super agro and not folding to 3bets then I would 3bet him big to around 1k – 1.2k hoping he ships. If he calls then probably ship on any flop coz he only has pot sized bet remaining.

G- I'm not crazy about playing for stacks w AK this early and this deep. Maybe the situation is diff with a maniac type player like this guy, but I'm not really sure about that either.

If someone opens and I'm in ep or mp with AK deep and pre-antes, I've made a 3bet/fold to a 4bet my default play. If I can iso with AK, fine. But if I get 4 bet, I'm not interested in playing a big bloated pot when very deep when the 4 bettor is repping JJ+, AK and the A or K may be an action killer on the flop and make for very tricky situations with other various types of flops.

But with one opener while having AK in lp or in the blinds vs an unknown or tag, is it standard with regs to just flat, not wanting to narrow the opp's small continuing range and make him fold worst?

I think maybe a click back 3 bet might be ok.  Has he made this sort of raise before?  It certainly feels like what you said (10's-Q's maybe AQ).  A small three bet serves as pot control and also most everyone else will know your serious.  Your range is pretty polarized by doing this also.  Wonder what anyone else thinks bout this line.

I don't mind a smooth call in this spot to under rep our hand strength, also balances out our calling range. If we smash a flop, then we can play a bigger pot, if we completely miss the flop, then we can just let it go, no harm done.

I'm a big fan of this answer.  I wouldn't mind stacking here if he's playing super aggro pre-flop, but I think most times our 3-bets just get flatted here and we're forced to play out of position – so getting it in pre probably isn't an option.  southpaw is my hero.
