Poker Stars $1.00+$0.10 No Limit Hold'em Tournament – t150/t300 Blinds + t40 – 9 players – View hand 2471907
TournamentPokerEdge.com Hand History Converter

SB: BB = 16.4, t4908
BB: BB = 11.9, t3560
UTG: BB = 17.4, t5230
UTG+1: BB = 29.2, t8765
Hero (UTG+2): BB = 26.5, t7945
MP1: BB = 86.8, t26048
MP2: BB = 9.6, t2867
CO: BB = 16.9, t5080
BTN: BB = 46.5, t13963

Pre Flop: (t810) Hero is UTG+2 with A of spades K of spades
1 fold, UTG+1 calls t300, Hero raises to t1050, 4 folds, SB calls t900, BB calls t750, 1 fold

Flop: (t3810) 2 of hearts J of clubs 3 of clubs (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero ???

Villain 1 Small blind is a bit nitty with raises, but likes to call a lot. Not excessive, 27% vpip and has yet to 3bet.

Villain 2, BB, Not many hands on him.

Villain 3 UTG+1, again likes to call a lot, but have a note on him that he limp folded his small blind BvB to a 3x raise. Tight PFR, 4%ish and 3bets about the same.

Still a way to go before cash, my equity is pretty worthless still, not in too much trouble obv but not rubbing my hands together counting my chickens either.  But im fairly comfortable and not usually in a rush here.  But antes are in so was planning on grabbing this pre flop to be honest, but hey ho the call and now I have some thinking to do…

So, the bit that confuses me here is the stack sizes really.
If I cbet then am I going to call a shove?
Do I just shove?
Do I just smack the brakes on due to the stack sizes making life so difficult for me?

I may try and flick some maths out on this tommorow, as I fancy a day doing homework and homework (tidying up and poker maths) rather than a day at the tables.

I would just cbet this with 1/3 of the pot or little more.

If called evaluate turn and if not improved let it go.

If shoved on the turn I would let go. So you would be riskin about 900 to win about 4000.

and very likely the flop did not hit them either.

I agree I think we need to Cbet our range looks strong after ISOing from utg and this may be our best chance to take the pot down. Clubs is the only real draw out there and being so short they may look to get it in with the draw. I think we can mostly rule out monsters as I would expect them to want to get it in pre being so short. Either way if we check behind I think we are passing up a good opportunity to take down the pot there and then. Interested to see what the pros think as obviously the stack sizes do make it awkward.

Well a little run through equilab shows we only have 20% so im guessing a shove would be terrible.

players at this level aint gonna fold a J or fd etc., so its bad to cbet into 4 people. So x/decide, mostly x/folding

Hero raises to t1050, 4 folds, SB calls t900, BB calls t750, 1 fold

Yes it was vs 2 players at end.

Does this make the 1/3 cbet more likely?
