This is a Bovada $11 SuperStack event that started at 14:45 on a Tuesday.  There were 902 players, I ended up taking 20th.  This hand is about 3 hours into the mtt.

Villain in this hand is UTG.  I have 13 hands tracked on him.  His stats are 38/8/0 AF 1.0.  Not a big sample, but these are the 3 hands I saw him play.

1.  From EP he has limp called a 2bb raise, then check raised to take it down.

2.  The next hand from UTG he limp folded to my MP raise of 3.5x.

3.  Then he open raised to 3x from EP and check folded the flop to a BUT player.

Hero has been active since this player sat down.  I have played 5 of the last 13 hands.

1.  2x raise from LP, won pot.

2.  Very next hand, 2x raise from LP, won pot.

3.  2 limpers (one of them villain) I make it 3.5x, villian folds, other player calls.  Opponent check folds to my cbet.

4.  B vs B, I check my option and fold to sb bet on flop.

5.  BUT limps, I am in sb w/ 88 and I shove, bb and BUT fold (they both had 15bb).

So neither of us has shown down a hand.  Now we are at the hand:

Blinds:  1600/800/160 – 8 handed

Hero: 72818 / M=19.8 / 45.6bb

Villain 60982 / M=16.6 / 38.2bb

Villain: Limps UTG – 1600

Hero: Raise AdiamondKclub MP – 4444

Action folds to Villain and he Calls – 4444

Pot – 12568

Flop: 3diamond 7heart 8heart

Villain checks and Hero cbets – 5555, Villain calls – 5555

Pot – 23678

Turn: Kheart
Villain checks again, Hero bets 11111, Villain calls

Pot – 45900

River: 8club

Villain: bets 18136

Hero: ???

Villain now has 21736 behind, or 13.5bb

Hero has 51780 behind, or 32.4bb.  If Hero calls and loses I will have 21bb.  If I call and win I will have 84bb.

What do you guys think?  Thank you for your responses laugh

I'm what's referred to as a pay off wizard, (lol), so I can't see myself folding here.

I can't fathom why though. I have trouble picking apart this hand and I think the reason I call is just because I'll get lazy and assume his value range may be too wide here and there's like a small possiblity he bluffs with like Ace of hearts.

Based on your description of the player, he doesn't seem to be sophisticated enough to be bluffing in this spot. His donk river bet screams value to me. I don't think he would do this with KQ/KJ/K10. I would fold.

And his limping range has a lot of suited connectors, no? Which nails this flop. I would be more inclined to call a river bet if we had checked the turn and maybe induced some bluffs. Not sure how he is bluffing though after calling the turn bet.

Yah like unless he's betting smallish to blocker bet (people do this a ton..) with KT-KQ enough times to beat out the combos of 33, 77, 87, 89, T8, A8. like i can maybe see him blocker betting A7 with the Ahearts or like 99 thinking that he doesn't want to call a river bet.

A couple things of note:

In given the hands he has played, 1 and 3 are fairly usualess without knowing board texture.

I am betting much bigger on the turn.  We are never drawing dead, and likely have best hand, and he could easily be drawing to a worse heart that will cahse.  Bet liek 14-15k and be happy about it.  I would def mix in some bluss here too to balance, as well as 2pr+ hands.  This also allows you to play for stakcs on river, really easily.

AS played, the river is a call for me a vast majority of the time.  I think this is  ablocker bet with a worse han as often as its a value ebt with  abetter, and given the pot to bet ratio we can easily turn a profit, even if he bet twice as foten with 8s as blockers/air.  We are just getting to great of odds, and I dont beleive fish enough for this to get a fold from me.  A shove would be more interesting.
