Hello!

No read on this V, he was about two orbits on the table, have not seeing him doing anything weird. What do you do with AKo in this situation? 3 tables left, I think, maybe two, but ITM already, 27 paid.

IPoker, $9.10 Buy-in (1,000/2,000 blinds, 240 ante) No Limit Hold’em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager – The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: 93,607 (46.8 bb)
Hero (BB): 104,372 (52.2 bb)
UTG+2: 33,848 (16.9 bb)
MP1: 119,188 (59.6 bb)
MP2: 152,263 (76.1 bb)
MP3: 14,738 (7.4 bb)
CO: 39,702 (19.9 bb)
BTN: 66,498 (33.2 bb)

I gave V a range of 88+,AQs+,AQo+, and I think he folds AQ for my shove, only call JJ+AK… but at the same time his 5x seems to me that V wants action… So not sure about this ranges. What is your thoughts?

The preflop action isn’t posted but it doesn’t matter. If a player 5x you can assume that he not likely to fold to anything but a shove, and not even that is certain. You are OOP, your hand is drawing, I would just call.

With 60bb stack I assume you are in the top7 or something in this tournament so no need with all the small stacks to play a huge pot pre

Preflop: Hero is BB with Kheart Aclub
UTG+2 folds, MP1 raises to 10,000, 5 folds Hero?

it really looks weird. Sometimes when I see people doing that it’s usually something like a small pair that he does not want a call.

BUT, weird as it may appear, I’ve seen people doing this big raises with AA/KK, willing to get action from real hands only, avoiding the risk of playing a multiway pot deep stacked with a premium pocket pair.

Anyway, if it doesn’t make sense to me, I tend to fold. If you’re uncomfortable pre flop, try to imagine what would you do facing a cbet on a K high flop for instance

I don’t think folding AK preflop to a single raise is an optimal strategy, especially not with a hand as strong as AK.

Unless you have seen it before you can’t just range V AA and KK and fold. This could be a 5x with QQ, JJ, 1010 as well, made bigger to avoid multipot.

But yes, I would assign V with a very tight range 1010+ and AK, a range that AK has good equity against until I know what a 5x pre means. It could also be an AQ and V could have an even wider range.

The fact is that V’s 5x could be his normal range, just that he isn’t comfortable playing postflop deepstacked.

So I would proceed with caution but I think a fold is out of the question. I think it’s too tight, our hand is just too strong, we have overs too 3 presumed pairs, we have 30% against KK and are only really in a bad spot against AA.

What about stack sizes? 52.2 bb efectives, and i am oop if i decide to see a flop with, and also will be a huge pot post flop.

I don´t assume V has KK+, with 30bb I would he happy to GII, I am not sure if i can go with  50bbs and get V dominated sometimes with weak Ace.

I haven´t seen V doing anything like this before, he did raise once, but mini raise if i remember correctly, was not an unusual raise tow.

I’m not familiar with iPoker. Is it possible to misclick (perhaps with the wrong preset)?

I don´t think so, there are a lot of skins for ipoker, the one I play I can set the numbers as I want. Not sure the others, but I think they are most the same.
