Early in the Big $22, I pick up AK UTG. Raise and get called in two spots followed by villain 3b from the SB which looks very strong. Effective stacks here are 80bbs. I don't think I can do anything other than jam or fold. Looking for views on most appropriate line.

Any stats or history with this guy to see if he 3bets or skveezes a lot? Has he shown anything down?
Either way I don't know the answer but I am curious as well. Maybe this is a good spot for DannyN's move where he 3bets (and calls a shove) so as not to look like the standard AK shove. (If this were the case, a shove would probably be good too)
I think that without a read, this is a go.

I don't have any real reads on the opponent as it is quite early and I was likely multi-tabling. In this spot even if I thought the villain in SB was loose and aggressive I very much doubt it is a spot where he turns up with anything other than JJ-AA, AK and very occasionally AQ in his 3b range. For most PPs it is a very easy set mine and for any other speculative hand it is deep stacked enough for SB to call and see a multi-way flop.
I am interested to establish whether people think a jam is profitable anyway but also whether there are any other strategic considerations here such as preserving stack because it is early in the tournament etc.
I'm not sure I like a 4b click here in the same way Danny did on the hand the other day as I don't think villain's stack is deep enough to give the illusion of fold equity to him if he was to jam over a 4b from us.
I think it is a definite jam/fold spot so interested to know what line people feel is right taking into account likely pure odds and also strategic considerations for the tournament.

I don't really think jamming is ever a great option. Initially I considered that I might flat, and play this OOP, but i'm very comfortable with my post flop play lately, so that's probably just a me only kind of play. I don't think playing this OOP vs such a big raise is a great idea unless you are comfortable with check calling and check shoving turn or doing some really creative things with your hand when you miss.
That being said, even though folding seems weak, we do have two players behind us who might decide to ship it, and then we could end up in a 3 way all in pre and not really love life very much. I probably fold here and wait for a better spot.

With the range you put him on, it's an easy fold. The critical question is whether you can put hands you dominate into this range. If you think he plays enough AQ/AJ/KQ this way to make up for the hands that dominate you, then you can call. Mostly you are calling for the implied odds of making top pair with a dominating kicker Under no circumstances would I shove as you are crushed by his calling range and if you have any fold equity at all it is only against hands you dominate.
