What is your play here and why?
Guy is pretty aggresive like rest of the table, barely any fish left in the tourny and every pot is hard to get.
OK first of all he has a big stack and is flatting from the bb / defending / so his range for that is wide. He also has to play the hand OOP and you were the pre-flop aggressor so I like a c-bet to something 5800-6000 and I think alot of the time you get folds here.
If he has a small pair like 22-33-44 hes probalby letting it go and not chk-raising, if he has just over cards, such as AQ,KQ,K10,Q10, he will probably fold also. Middle pocket pairs like 7s,8's,9s are probably sticking around on this flop but do they check-raise?. I guess the question is what is he chk-raising here with? It's not 34 or 78 imo, and it's probably not AA,KK,QQ but you never know I suppose but since you said he was aggro then I would expect him to keep being aggro if he has a monster.
I think he probably has some sort of Jack such as KJ, QJ, 10J and he out flopped you. I probably just let it go and wait for a better spot. You still have about 30 bb's which is plenty of play with. He could also just be bluff raising if he thinks you didn't hit that flop since hes aggressive and the board texture is really dry and non threatening.
I guess you do have some sort of showdown value with AK high (nut no pair) and he basically 'clicks it back' so you could call and see what he does on the turn. If he checks the turn you could fire and really find out where your at or you could check back and hope to get to showdown on the river. Interesting spot..
I suck at hand reading / analysis..where is HTP when you need him lol 🙂
Thanks guys,
I actually decided to take a stand against this guy, there were no easy pots to take with the people left..
Still, Do you think it's kinda spewy to do that?
It's just felt like he's messing around.

I'd probably bet a little more on flop like Meta said. His check/raise is really small here so don't count out the fact he could also have a set and is trying to build a pot. I'd just fold here and we still have 30bbs left.
Meta and cougars in which cases you decide to cbet around half the pot and in which cases like 3rd?
I usually cbet like this with a hand and without a hand – just found that people tend to think you are cbetting weak and jam it on you when you hold the goods. Seem like more profitable in the long term.

there is definately alot of trickery in bet sizing whether we're trying to induce or gain max value. i think the actual sizes should be dependant upon villian type. i agree with ur way of thinking and i play and bet that way myself from time to time. here u bet weak and he raised. if u cebet showing strentgh he could fold and u dont win any more chips so its a balancing act….
but on to the play, i like the stand. before i got to ur post i was thinking villian is a skilled agg reg and is likely making a move on me. my only objection is the shove. in this spot as u may already know, we're only getting called by better. when villian decides to call we cant get our chips back once they're all in the middle and all we have here is ace high. i also think at times we open ourselves up to be called lighter in this spot because we shove and not play a little slower which more likely reps strentgh.
in this spot against this villian, i really like a call and ship on turn when he leads. here, we've gotten two bets instead of 1. we're still putting all our chips in with only ace high but our line is so much stronger. this way we can get a ton of hands thats beating us to fold, 77, 88, 99, 1010, jq, j10 and j9

I'd check behind on the flop . It's a pretty dry flop rly and I think you can bet or raise a bet from him on the turn and represent a big pair or set that slowplayed the flop . Plus you might hit an ace or king on the turn anyway . Idk just feels like a bigstack is gonna try and mess with you on this sort of flop and he's def not folding any pair or any piece of it anyway so if you bet the flop and he calls or c/r you're into double or triple barrel bluffs which I would rather avoid when you've only put like 5% of your stack into the pot so far
