AK facing a shove of 11.5bb with player behind....would I rather have the iso here or induce a reshove?

Really not sure what I would rather have here….it might not even matter.

I know I am well ahead of the shovers range and I think a call here looks slightly weaker than a reship.  I am thinking that by just calling I might get AQ or AJ to reshove on me where as they might fold if I ship.  I guess 88-1010 might shove as well though as to where they might just fold pre if I reshove.  If the shipper has a pocket pair I can lose to him and win a side pot from an AQ or AJ that will keep my stack where it is.

Maybe I am overthinking this and it is a moot point but I would love to hear some opinions.

Would you rather just shove here or try to induce?

why?

against really weak players who wont notice, flatting is better to give them a chance to make a mistake.

against better opponents, they know u put in half ur stack and is not folding, so it looks extremely strong.  they will shove much tighter JJ+/AK.  iso shoving looks much weaker and they may call wider.

depends on buy in level mostly, i reshove most of the time fwiw.

Personally taking down the shover stack increases your stack by 50% which is a good thing.  I could see playing this way with AA/KK..maybe. But not AK you have a drawing hand and the less people in the pot the better I would feel.  I would poker stove it and see what the equity differences are 2handed vs 3 handed.

Agree with JDOG. I just iso-raise here. If I had AA or KK I may flat to enduce a spaz / squeeze. AK 3 handed is kinda gross

What I was thinking was that I had about 2x the short stacks shove and both blinds had me covered.  If one of them shoved I would;

1) Have a chance to win a monster pot to become chip leader

2) Just have to win a side pot with one of the bigger stacks to maintain my stack

Since I thought that my call looks pretty strong anyway I think maybe AQ AJ 1010 and 99 are the only hands that one of the blinds reshoves that would have folded if I just shipped it in.  I am 62 percent against that range for the side pot.

All of this said I still do not know which I like better and would def like to get some more opinions on this.

you flatting 50% of your stack here is essentially a shove.  You aren't inducing anything with your stack size.
