Hello!

Put myself into an really weird spot with this hand almost 45bb efective. Should I have slowdown at any point?

IPoker, $9.10 Buy-in (800/1,600 blinds, 180 ante) No Limit Hold’em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager – The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

Hero (SB): 74,685 (46.7 bb)
BB: 16,610 (10.4 bb)
UTG+2: 28,730 (18 bb)
MP1: 38,210 (23.9 bb)
MP2: 21,120 (13.2 bb)
MP3: 17,990 (11.2 bb)
CO: 25,380 (15.9 bb)
BTN: 71,831 (44.9 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with Aclub Jdiamond
5 folds, BTN raises to 3,200, Hero raises to 8,800, BB calls 7,200, BTN calls 5,600

Flop: (27,840) Jspade 2club 3diamond (3 players)
Hero bets 9,895, BB calls 7,630 and is all-in, BTN calls 9,895

Turn: (55,260) 5spade (3 players, 1 is all-in)
Hero bets 55,810 and is all-in ???

BTN was playing loose from FP, stealing some pots. Is any good to polarize 3bet ranges here? Call AQ and AK; 3bet AJ, AT, A9s…?

3betting is fine/good, and I don’t see why you wouldn’t 3-bet AQ or AK either. The BB’s cold call should cause you to sit up and take notice. I would seriously consider checking the flop, because betting into both of them after BB cold calls is going to look extremely strong. However, given that you did bet, your sizing is good.

Shoving turn for a PSB is not good, though. You have to keep in mind that this is not a heads up pot. With the BB all in with what is probably a strong hand, you have little incentive to bluff, which means your opponent will have little incentive to call a big bet with a worse hand than AJ. I would check the turn and see what BN does. Remember that he, too, does not have much incentive to bluff.

AQ and AK i thought about just calling because keeps all BTN range, that includes a lot of weaker Aces, K and Q… but since is oop I agree is not good. Better with smaller stack? ~30bbs… Also a call with AK, hope the BB shoves, and BTN reshoves to isolate with a weaker holding; is this bad too? high variance road I guess.

So on the turn you think I should go for a check fold most often? Lets say BTN bets ~20k, around 1/3 of the pot, I can´t call without being comited, right? (half of my stack in).

I think V is most likely to bet for value a 88, 99 and TT if I check turn to him. At the same time I don´t think AA KK or QQ would just call IP on a 3way pot pre flop, QQ are more possible to call on my thinking… So I guess I should check and call it down? Even with A, K or Q OTR?
