We were 19 left, I was 9th with a two shortstacks left and 18 get paid. $46 for 18th, $1180 for 1st.

I wonder if we should open and fold this, if we get shoved on, given stack size and the fact that we are only one left to ITM. Was my play spewy?

Never folding. Just time, make it 10k or something and timebank/call vs a shove.

Sure, making it 10k leaves us pot-committed, but bad players tend to believe they might still have fold-equity and bluff-shove on us, maybe with 55+ ATs+, KQ and some T9s-type hands (I mean I have seen folds like this before…). I wonder if this is a spot we don't want to get bluffed, because any hands, except the AT and lower have great equity against this hand.

With a pocketpair 99+ I might think different and welcome to induce.

Raise-folding a hand this strong is a pretty expensive thing to do. Shoving is really very low risk, you just happened to get unlucky in this spot. It's correct to take some risks on the bubble, as long as the reward is there, which here I'd say it is.
