Curious to hear people's AHA moments where you learned a new theory/tip and it made a big difference in your game.  Can't say that I have had any particular moments for a while, but am always curious when that “light bulb” moment hits for people.

Also, any particular vids here give you that moment(s)?

As my name suggests, the relavance of 3betting changed my game. Previously I only 3bet with premium hands, AQ+ but have since opened my game up alot.

I also play alot of live, and have found 3bets work lot more than online. Has changed my image from a rock to a TAG/LAG.

Another lightbulb moment was watching a vid here (cant remember which) where it emphasised value betting. The instructor said that by allowing urself to get one extra bet in on the river will show a big difference in your chip stack, and believe me it does. Live I always used to say to myself, “pretty sure I have best hand here, but pot is big enuff” and check. Now i think “Pretty sure i have best hand, lets value town it and get one more bet in”.

Stopped flatting out of position. Stopped opening light and started 3 betting light against fish.

Those are probably the biggest adjustments that made the biggest differences.

And also started limping a little bit with big hands in micros since fish love to spaz out.

figuring out I need to put people on ranges and not specific hands.  Also playing live I had an aha moment when I saw how bad everyone was.  It was like “aha, there will always be money in poker!”

Determining whether an opponent has showdown value on the River and then playing accordinngly by either betting for value or betting because you feel that they can't call.

the power of the all in, I've gotten pretty good about sniping weak openers even some 3bets and the biggest difference its made in my game is in the later stages of a tournament when it can be difficult to keep an average stack from slipping into a short stack, if you can do this successfully it will not only keep you up with the field but project you to where you need to be to make deep runs and final tables more frequently. As far as what helped me develop this, it was a combination of alot of videos and forums research bet sizing relative to stack, position, betting patterns these are some of the key things I look for. Big dog did a theory video on 3bet shoves start there

You ever heard from a girl breaking up with you or maybe you used it yourself. It is not you it is me. When I applied this to my game it really opened my eyes. I can't blame others for what happens. Making good decisions is me not them. So I don't know if I am much better just makes me feel better. Don't know if I explained that right but I know what I meant. Having to swap from a midnite schedule at work to work one day of day shift then right back to my regular nite shift schedule has me out there. Sorry.
