What do you think about betting like 2200 on the turn and shoving any river? Villain is not good, but he would still have a great stack left if he folds river.
Not sure, blindbattles are so much about image and your dynamics and you say nothing of it. That line certainly puts him to the test, i like that part.
But he has a stack to take that hit and blindbattles are often herocalled. 5 might also be in his range on the turn and he is probably not laying that down. What hands are you representing with 2200 on the turn? AK and A8? I think 88 and A5 and 5x bets smaller too keep Ax in, and neither AK or A8 makes sense to shove on the river, so he is prone to bluffcatch with Ax. I'm also not a big fan of doing this plan when the board already paired, you might be dead.
My line would be standard. Bet a bit less than 2/3, 1895ish, on turn to fold out weak floats and if he calls and I hit I valuebet whatever our dynamics dictate (if I have been hammering him I might overbet shove a flush). I might in some situations and if my image allows it rep the five by betting big on the river, but most of the time I give up if I miss to have some stack left to work with.
Check out my "going pro" poker journal, updated weekly with wins, losses and my progress as a player:
I would only make this play if I didnt think he would give up over half his stack on a hero call. If he has a 5 he is likely to shove the turn and he gets our stack any way. He probably thinks we are repping the nuts or nothing, when really it's just nothing. If I had to come up with something, I guess AA could do this knowing that it can only get called by a strong hand any way or maybe even Ax that is scared of the flush draw. I personally wouldnt want to call to find out. I guess vs more curious players you could do this with the nuts sometimes or merge sometimes if you wanted to balance your range.
