What are some of the main tips the TPE pros have for your first time at a WSOP event. I will be playing in most of the events that are coming to Cherokee, North Carolina, including the BIG $365. This will be my first World Series event. I was wondering if anybody had any good tips on the best way to adjust to such a big tournament. The biggest(number of players) live tournament i’ve played had 230 people in it. I placed 4th. It was a freeroll for World Tavern Poker. The biggest buy-in I’ve played was a $240 tourney in the poker room at Cherokee, (didn’t cash.) I have played plenty of tournaments this year between freeroll, online, and live digital, and live card, (probably around 300.) I’m just trying to go into the World Series comfortably.
Thanks,

take your time and get comfortable early. Don't feel like you have to make a ton of moves. Take a few orbits to get a good feel for the players at your table.
Dress warm. They keep it damn cold in poker tournaments.
Play your game and don't over think things. I have played a ton of these events at Cherokee and the fields are pretty soft, but soft does not mean they like to fold so be careful who you try to run big bluffs and such on.
Try to really focus on playing pots in position.
Most importantly, have fun!
As KB said, get comfortable. Can't win the tourney the first few hours or even the first day usually! So stay patient. I would play very tight early levels because excitement and emotion may cost you a lot of chips playing too many hands. Pay attention to the clock and structure. If you can stay around average you're doing fine! GL
