Looking for advice or feedback on a general question regarding blind Structures/Gameplay.

playing on the 888poker network where most every daily tournament has standard 10 minute blind levels. I've had some moderate early success in the smaller than normal mtt field sizes. However I'm wondering if being so tight at 10 minute levels is hurting my gameplay? I just play a standard TAG style and mix it up IP when blinds increase and antes kick in but for the most part I wait for the goods. Seems like the structure caters towards more aggro play , and feel like the really lag and active players are the ones crushing. i feel like you are playing against the structure as oppose to the players.

Do people think that is the case? Thanks.

The pace of the tourney should determend how hard you play your hands and edges. In general you should be less worried about opponents having a better hand than you and more worried about getting max value from every hand you play. You squeeze in that valuebet with AJ even when tho the flush hit the river. You raise that set even tho the straightdraw got there. You play your good hands faster and for max value, of course you don't play stupid, but I think you get my point. You are going to get fewer oppertunities to get chips, so you need to utilize those oppertunities perhaps a bit more carefree than you might otherwise.

But don't get blinded by blind times, if the jumps are small that doesnt change much. Stars have loads of different structures with same time for blinds, but faster and higher jumps. So make sure your not adjusting wrongly. For most regular structures you shouldnt change your game too much, the things I mention here is much more relevant for turbos etc.

(As for extreemly slow/deep structure you play opposite, being careful without the effective nuts as you will have good time and plenty of opportunities to accumilate chips).

Playing turbos—WATCH DannyN13 vids, he is Turbo beast!!

My opinion:

I play big hands fast and will play more hands early for cheap in order to accumulate stack.  Most important thing to me in a turbo is to build stack early so we can abuse later on by opening wide from all positions.

Playing big hands fast, meaning 3 betting a little bigger with monster in order to build bigger pots so we can assure we are getting it in by the river as an ex.  DannyN13, watch his vids, u will thank me later!
