They won't come in without strong hands anyway if you just flat. It's almost the bb's entire stack and it's 1/3 of the SB's stack and he's out of position on the flop. Pretty simple jam here.

Agreed no sense leaving 5k behind you're committed either way.

We jammin. Flatting screams aces with your stack. If you had 50 or so blinds a flat would be fine.

A follow up question to this:

I am sure many other players struggle with this.

At what stack size can I just flat here with all else being equal? I agree with what's been said before a flat screams of a monster hand – but what stack size can I flat and hopefully have 88-JJ tool out with an all-n call without scaring them off.

I can appreciate that it is player dependant – lets assume the two remaining to act are TAG 10/20 over 100 hands.

you'd need 40 bb minimum and any stack behind you would need the same. No one is tooling with weakish stuff if they realize you can never fold. The odds are just too great they're slightly dominated or crushed, and/or they don't want to take a flip when they started the hand with > 40 bb's.

Ya like Fkcoolers said effective stacks need to be 40bb+ for us to be able to get away with a flat here.
