I think this is pretty standard but I figured I would ask. I pretty much knew I was toast but shoved anyway. Is there a way to fold here? My read is pretty much that I put him on Kx (KQs,KQ,AK). Perhaps I have to learn to trust my read and find some way to make better folds.

My plan was to just flat his 3-bet pre-flop, check call the flop and just jam the turn.

ugh ugh ugh! If you're going to flat pre please raise on the flop so you can get it in. it's a $1 mtt and almost no one 3 bets light so I'd click it back to 2000 and just jam whatever flop comes.

As played I am pretty sure we're dead on the Turn unless he has QQ and was just c-betting to follow up his 3 bet.

I normally do get it in on the flop here Fk but I got a little to cute with it and should have played it like I normally do. Thanks for the input. I figured I was dead and was right lol. Perhaps next time i'm in that situation I might be able to find a fold.

cheers 🙂

Either way I get coolered but I'm not trying to be results based. I'll just get it in on the flop and let the cards fall how they may. I should have just jammed over his 3-bet but got a little to cute and paid the price lol. Next time, i'll jam it pre 🙂

The flat pre-flop, especially at these stakes, is a huge mistake.  You're losing so much value by not 4 betting with players that are vastly inexperienced and likely to committ with a variety of weak hands.

I don't hate the flat… I'm just saying make sure the rest gets in on the flop if you decide to flat.

It's certainly not a leak to flat with Aces in this spot because once he c-bets he's basically priced in to call your check/jam.

It would be a bigger leak to flat it with deep stacks where you want to lower your SPR and get a big pot going preflop.

I guess with just about any other hand i'm all about getting it in pre but with A-A here I remember at the time thinking that I didn't want to 'lose him' to a 4 bet jam. Won't make the same mistake next time.
