Villian is 25/10 with 10% 3 bet and active postflop.  Was hoping to play for a cheap showdown with the turn check but i’m not sure if he’s good and playing position well or just has it.

Given my turn play what’s yoru river action?

I am just trying to figure out what he could limp with UTG and then call with.

UTG could have limped called with 22-99, 76s+….maybe throw in some broadway cards there.

Hmmm, he could have floated the flop with middle pair and got lucky on the turn.

I think the only thing you fear is 98s, T9s, 55, 99(i doubt this), against a what type of range? say 20% of hands? maybe less.

Ehh  you could have called and if lost have120BBs still….I see no problem with your fold, but dont take my opinion seriously i get nitty in these big tourneys.

The way you’ve played your hand, it is really under-represented.  He can certainly be trying to get value from a jack here, or even 66-TT.  I call pretty quickly.

yeah after checking turn i don’t know if i can fold now. not sure if that means bet/folding turn is better, but just my initial thoughts.

I hate to say the whole “I put you on AK” thing but…

The way you played your hand made it look this way, or even a hand like 10-10.

After checking calling the turn, i think check calling the river would be the best play here.  If his vpip is 25 hes probably limping hands like JQ, kj, maybe even limping Aj utg or 55.

with this range that connects to that flop, its gotta be a call.

this is definitely something that you guys have taught me in the past– checking the turn essentially makes for an auto-call on the river.  I’ve never much cared for it, but you guys are better than I am, so I just kind of went with it, and I’ve found that you’re all pretty much right all the time.  With that being said, does anybody not particularly like the turn check?  I think I prefer bet/folding the turn (or betting turn and c/f river whenever the case may be).

As played, I agree with Hag/Wein and certainly call now, especially with such an innocuous card on the river.

(am I using the word innocuous correctly here?)

Yeah, I dont see myself folding here with the way you played it.  I prolly fire the turn or check/raise.

Why check/raise?  I think if we do that then we let him fold everything we beat and just get crushed when behind.  Unless we think he’s going to go apeshit with a J here, which I don’t think he would – I think he’d pot control and just call with a J.

I like the c/c turn line for opening up his bluff range.  I think i folded river because I’m feeling like everyone has had it on the river lately but that’s a perceptional/emotional decision that in a vacuum is clearly wrong.  I guess this is why downswings extend – first run bad then start to play bad.

Thanks for the feedback.
