Have over 600 hands with villian. He has a 46/22 vpip. He is a persistant limp/caller. Wondering about the small raise on flop and checking back turn. I was kind of thrown by the donk and then the call. I have no idea how to range this guy because he shows up with some very strange hands when it gets to showdown. After the c/c on turn just no way to raise and get called by worse on river unless he thinks we have AK alot?

Not a fan of the flop raise sizing as we give him a great price to call with all straight draws, 1p w back doors, etc. Sure we want to keep weaker hands in his range but we also want to charge draws. I prefer 700ish to 800.  As played checking turn makes sense and all u can do is call on riv imo. Unlikely that he has a 9 or any higher pair and any 7 or 6 will have a tough time calling your raise unless you have aggro image.

You’ve figured out he’s not very sophisticated. All you can do on a draw heavy board is give him bad odds to call and hope he doesn’t hit. What is his post-flop play like? 46/22 is one thing, but whether he calls a lot afterward (let alone how often he donks) affects how wide your range can be while still being profitable.
