I see this as standard. When he bets I literally think to my self “he never has a four here…” I’m betting all streets for value… any thoughts or just standard? I don’t know if my assumption is correct.

I’d raise a bit bigger on the flop, but that doesn’t have anything to do with the outcome of this hand. Except, I guess, that overpairs tend to benefit from frontloading, and even if you call the river (which I would), it’s a crying call, whereas on the flop you are excited to be putting money in.

When he bets I literally think to my self “he never has a four here…””

Well that’s a mistake. I mean, it can be correct to call even though he might have a 4, but I don’t see any reason to assume he never has one.

Yep. That is why I was asking basically, I made that assumption based on how the hand had been played. When I saw his 45 I figured it may make sense to an extent although calling two barrels and a 3bet with 45 seemed really bad… Not that I was going to fold but as you say, putting that as completely out of his range may be bad…

On the hand I was putting him on some sort of Jx, on the river I was thinking either JJ or JA… never though it would make sense for him to have a 4.

Sometimes I get too cautious. Seeing hands like this doesn’t help 🙂

After flatting your 3 bet, he donks the flop. When I show strength and someone continues to lead the betting, it causes me to slow down. I guess it is probably better to think a little more logically than that. It’s an old habit I have to kick. Let me try this:

When V leads the flop, I narrow the range to JJ+, 33, 22, AJ, and 54. Maybe A4 suited with a backdoor flush draw? This early in a tournament, this deep, people are more likely to take flyers.
