On the flop I'm putting villain on Qx, QT, KJ and 22. On the turn we only beat a Qx hand so is it best to fold here? Or can we go to the felt???

i think this is a fold on the turn tbh. the most obvious draw got there, and villain is still being aggro, and there are no flush draws, so that would make me lean towards sets+

What about a shove on the flop? AQ is also a possibility ot do you think, because OOP, he would 3-bet. Villain could put you on a AK which missed, so with AQ he should reraise because of the wet board. The hand you’re afraid for are also possible, but AQ you would beat and every draw could fold.
AQ could also explain his bet on the turn and his bet on the river could be a value bet!
But because hand is posted, I presume you lost the pot and I’m wrong, unless you folded on the river.

the thing that discounts AQ for me is that there is a check raise on the flop. usually a check raise is pretty polarised to super value hands or draws. top pair hands would more likely check call. sure, sometimes they would, but even if you put half of the combos of AQ in there, i think there is a lot more two pair+ hands and draws which got there on the turn.

it certainly looks like KJ to me.

sets more often than anything else, AQ is def there due to positions tho imo benny tho i agree with fold turn, fold flop if he is passive or weak tight. frankly we are only looking for 2/A turns and otherwise hoping he just gives up the aggression.

Thanks all for your responses. When trying to ascertain whether a player is passive are we looking at his AF, with a figure of like 1.0 and less being very passive? What would tell you he was weak tight?
