…..E0E8CD0ECF

We are 3 tables left of a 50euros tourney, villain seems competent and im certain he understands the D/BB dinamycs (we both know that each other knows that we both have wide ranges in this situation)…

I played this hand a week ago, to be honest im still not sure this is a bad call (people at the table laughed in the chat box when they saw i called river with Ahigh ahaha)
but looking at it now i may have found THE mistake i made in ranging my opponent…but before sharing it i would like to hear what you guys think first (Andrew’s in particular =D)

Seems reasonable to me, although his river sizing is suspicious because if he's smart about his bluffing, he should mostly be targeting non-pair hands and doesn't necessarily need to bet this big. Your specific hand is also not the ideal bluff-catcher because you block some of his bluff candidates (busted heart draws) and none of his value hands. I don't hate the call by any means, though.

I thought the exact same thing about his river sizing Andrew…

Anyway, after re-watching the hand now i came to think that maybe i made a mistake on the turn: isnt it a bad card to double barrell as a bluff in villain's shoes (especially with that size) ? would you (should we..) barell it with a fd /overcards /gutshots ?

Some cards are better than others, but there aren't many spots where you shouldn't have a bluffing range at all. For me, a “bad card to barrel” usually means I'm only going to bet my best bluffing hands. After all, if you were to assume that he'd never barrel this card and fold most of your bluff-catchers, then he could very profitably barrel it…
