Reads: Final table recently convened w/ 9 players and lost one on first hand. 1 full orbit since then and everyone seems to have tightened up. Lots of folding to raises except for UTG+1. He's the wildcard that has been very active and calling people down with some questionable hands all day, but he's been getting very lucky in key spots to win big pots and stay afloat. It's very rare that he ever folds once he has money in the pot. Level 1 thinker.
I'm not sure my hand is strong enough against his range which I estimate to be any pp, suited connectors, Axs, ATo+, K9s+, any two broadway cards. And given his propensity to call I'm not sure I have a lot of fold equity for a shove. On the other hand, I can't wait much longer and this may be my only decent opportunity.
Should I shove or wait for better spot or different opponent?
Since you are the short stack and there seems to only be one guy with a similar stack as you, there isn't really ICM implications and I don't think you can allow yourself to hit the blinds again if you don't take this spot. You seem to believe you are ahead of villians limping range and that's all that matters at this point. A little trick I may do if villian is not stack size aware would be to 5x this spot and not go completely all in where you may induce a fold if he doesn't notice you only have a bb behind. If you go all in he may believe he is “committed”. Doesn't always work but can't hurt imo because obviously you are going with it anyway. GL

Thanks, I really like that idea against this type of player. I definitely think he would consider folding more often to what he sees as a strong raise rather than a short stack all-in if he doesn't notice chipstack.
In the end, villain tanked a minute and called with 77, nullifying one of my outs. No A on the board and I'm out of the tourney. However, I feel like I made the right move given the circumstance. I just wasn't sure how much I should let my knowledge of villain being a calling station influence my decision with a hand that is at the bottom end of my shoving range.
