The different ways people play poker never stops amazing me. An 11x 3bet to 2/3 of his / your stacks, what the f**k. Well, there is one clear assumption – he is not folding to a shove. In my view this is one of 2 things:
1) a weak pair that he thinks is best right now, but doesnt actually want to play a pot or risk you calling a 'normal' 3bet with OOP. Therefor he is just trying to take it down now.
2) He genuinely has a monster and is trying to induce with a spaztastic 3bet
If he has previously made ridiculous 3bets like this before I might be v tempted to get it in. If this is the first such raise, I might actually give him credit for being an idiot with a monster. Turbos (especially bounty turbos) make people play in the strangest ways.
Not sure this response really helps. My reaction to these bets (when i have a hand) is WTF! then tank for a bit and decide whether I want to gamble in this spot or not.

Yeah. I tanked and folded, I think he has 66-TT(some JJ/QQ?) here alot and some AQ/AK combos, I figured althought Im slightly ahead of his range I didn't feel like taking the spot when I was very alive in the tourney. He afterwards told me he had 88, probably the truth.

I think this line looks like he nevers has a hand thats all that good, in his mind obviously. I think that if he had something like JJ-AA or AQ-AK, he would 3bet smaller, hoping for action. The only exception being AQ some percentage of the time. The only hand im really worried about here is TT, im really not sure who would play JJ-AA like that, even if hes a complete tard, he knows that this raise will get folds more often than not.
Just by this raise, I can infer that he is not a very competent player, so to even think hes leveling, is out of the question IMO. I do see a lot of people playing small to medium PP's like this, as they feel they have a good hand, but vulnerable and don't really know what to do, so basically shoving/comitt raising is how they play, which leads me to believe he was telling the truth with the 88.
That said, he will show up with two paints and Ax combos here too some % of the time, so its basically up to us to decided if it's a good spot to gamble or just pass. Just my opinion 🙂
Fifth for a nice score, shipped it today thought 😉 (or 3-way chopped it)
