few times I lost torney in the same way facing bigger pair. but did I havo some other options?

Hand:

UTG: 40bb opens 2xbb (Tigth player by stats)

CO: calls 2xbb

Sb:fold

BB (HERO) holding 9heart9spade with 21bb stack: I shove it, it looks to me like a nice sqeez and with 21bb I dont know what to do else . and get call by UTG AclubAdiamond. Have I any other options.??? Should I be more carefull in this stage when 180men left.

This week I lost exackly the same with 99 vs 1010 in late stages 20bb stack in bb. vs utg .

It’s fine. On the rare occasion against an extremely tight EP open I might convince myself to fold a range that I usually get in with. But yeah sometimes you just run into hands so don’t beat yourself up over it.

Hi,

If you play with a tracker look his PFR (preflop raise) in early position, it could be a good indication (if you have a good sample on the guy). If his PFR in EP is 3% over 400 hands you can find a fold but without good informations/reads/sample on villain it's a standard shove 20BB deep.

Even if he is opening 50% UTG sometimes he will have TT+, it's just a setup imo…

ty for replays. I'm very agresive player and folding 99 with 20bb its some mistery move lol. but I think sometimes I need to find a fold.

I'm generally a tight player, but I think I shove against most opponents here.

I agree that you sometimes need to find a fold.  But honestly, that sometimes is very rarely.  I would shove here even against most UTG raisers I would describe as tight.  But I wouldn't against 100% of players.  You need a lot of data to make it a fold.

Well you never need to fold here. That's for sure.

If other players in the hand are very nitty you can certainly set mine and it's just a 1 bb cost to check/fold.

Yep, folding is never the paly ehrre.  Calling is def fine.

That said, I play a style where I 3 bet large here, not because I ever 3 bet fold in this spot, but because I do 3 bet a lot, to the point people may convinc themselves I 3 bet fold.  Also shoving 20BBs over a min riase is somethign I rarely if ever do, so I find it becomes faceup if I do it with my mid PPs and AQs/Ak type hands, although people always make suprisingly bad calls so meh maybe not.

Shoving is fine here a good % of the time, agasint super nits calling is best.  If you call and it comes all unders and a super nit UTG c bets, I probably fold except on a couple boards liek 345, where we can rep the 4 card straigth if it comes easily, or we haev a gut shot/straight draw ourselves.
